Eau Claire Man Creates a Place To House Teens and Young Adults Facing Adversity.

"After years of planning, I am beyond excited to share the location of the Smile House on Eau Claire’s West Side! The Smile House has been a dream of mine for almost three years, and it has taken a great deal of work to reach this point.
SMILE stands for support system, mentoring, independent living, and education. The Smile House will be a transitional living program for teenagers and young adults who have aged out of foster care and who are at-risk of becoming homeless.

will be the only such program in the region for this population, and it will provide a variety of important services for its residents. This is greatly important to ensure that we prevent young adult homelessness and help every young person find a place to belong (currently, 1 in 5 youth aging out of foster care become homeless after age 18).

Over the next few months, there will be a variety of opportunities for you to get involved in renovations as we will open the house in 2020. We have an amazing team involved and I am so thankful for the support."

"We're very excited to see massive action taken on this issue. There's a gap that needs to be filled here. The young entrepreneurs and philanthropists in the community are taking action to fill these needs and desires in our own back yard!" - Dakota Yarrington
